We just had family pictures done, and of course Kai & Senya ended up looking so cute that we just HAD to share them :)
It's been six years since we started our little family--the two of us had great fun together and then decided it was time to add some spice to our life, so in May 2008 we welcomed a great little addition to our family, Kai. In 2010 we have added yet another addition, a wonderful little girl, Senya. Now in 2013 we've made it a trilogy with Ailin. Life is great!!
About Us

She's Here!!! Senya Mei Mitchell (Sen1 Ya3 森雅)
We welcomed the newest and littlest member of our family at 9:09am, 10/01/10, a great day to have birthday!!! Weighing in a 9lbs 7oz (and thats 5 days early!) she was born via scheduled c-section. She's been completely healthy and perfect (aka sleeps a lot). Yuan has been recovering fantastically well, and we're looking forward to returning home on the 4th.
Kai giving mommy's owie a kiss better, so adorable |
Big brother Kai |
What a sweetie! |
But don't worry, he turned back to normal soon :) He says 'Kai Kai is a little dragon, Daddy's a big dragon' |
"Why did you pull me out! I wasn't done cooking yet!" |
hmm...so who does she look like?! |
seems to me to be a carbon copy of mommy |
So where have we been!?
Yes, today is bloggin day for me...I'm in the hospital and actually am getting very decent non-work computer time :) I just wanted to post a few exciting pics from the past few months before I post the much-anticipated new baby post. Here are the highlights of what we've done:
Taught Kai how to fly |
Potty-trained Kai (flying was easier) |
Gone to the beach |
Caught the spider that ate the neighbor's cat (that is a quarter in the foreground) |
Made, and ate desserts that probably deserve a blog all to themselves |
Gave Kai as much love as possible before he is removed from his throne |
Perhaps slightly scary |
Kai and I watched LOTS of world cup this year, he now says 'C'MON!!!' At every bad call just like daddy |
More Europe Edits...
Well, after over a year of inactivity on my part, I decided to add a few more pics from our trip to Europe this year. A quick summary of the trip is...well it was awesome. It was wierd to go without Kai, and feel the freedom of a childless companionship again. It was also very refreshing to discover, however, that life was of course MUCH better with Kai :) A wonderful thing to really get an appreciation for as we prepare for our second little bundle of joy.
Barcelona was my favorite city of all. Great shopping, great food, fantastic things to see. Intel has a design site in Barcelona with people from my project...we just might have to move there.
I was shocked that Yuan didn't post her favorite part about Paris, her new 5 year anniversary wedding ring |
Everyone must go to the Louvre, go... now! |
aww... |
So Yuan already posted my favorite pics from Venice. I really enjoyed the quaint feel of Venice.
Florence was spectacular, yummy food, especially the gelato |
Seriously by far the most beautiful statue I have ever seen. The pictures do not do it justice. |

My favorite picture from the whole trip :) |
The eternal project of La Sagrada Familia |
Amazing, and now we're gonna have to go back when...if...it gets finished |
Casa Batla |
Casa Mia |
Park Guell |
Since I put an embarassing picture of Yuan earlier, I had better put one of me |
whew! Great memories, but its great to be home!

News
Ok, I have no clue what is going on, I selected 'medium' for picture size, but these don't look like medium to me, more like 'tiny'. And I can't cut and paste the content below. And I'm too lazy to start all over again... so here it is. (Months later, I, Justin came in and saved the day and fixed it :))
So... ummm... in case anyone cared, we'll be welcoming someone new into our little family (soon, not soon enough though),
We (I) are pregnant with our 2nd child. We don't yet know what gender it is, and we'll find out in a week and half. It's really anyone's guess, and please give us a guess if you'd like because we are all curious when the Mitchell family will finally receive another little girl to break the 5-boy streak.
Other than that... Kai will be turning 2 in a little over a week! I can't believe how much older he seems already (with all the non-stop babbling and climbing and running and jumping). His favorite word right now is 'Nice!', and he compliments himself with this word everytime he throws a ball or jumps off the couch.
Justin and I took a trip to Europe last month (sans Kai, thanks to my beautiful sister-in-law Shannon), and it was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone to travel without their little ones every once in a while. You suddenly realize there are so many little pleasures of life that you haven't experienced for a while (sleep-in till whenever you want, eat however slow you want, or walk into whichever store you want...) and it was quite nice to be able to enjoy them again even just for a short amount of time.
So that's all I have energy to write right now. Pardon me for being brief :)
